Colchagua Valley is just over an hour drive south from Santiago and it is home to Carmenere, -one of the most ancient European varieties- that is rarely found in Europe anymore and widely grown in Chile, particularly in the Colchagua wine region that enjoys diverse weathers, from the dry-and-warm intense hot days at the Andes foothills to the cool-breezed afternoons by the Pacific coastline.
